For one or two hours a week, to lie down and let oneself be guided
by the teacher's instructions, to be attuned to our inner feelings through
simple and entertaining movements while focusing on a state unencumbered
by performance, thereby discarding any useless efforts.
This technique fosters kinesthesia, deepens and enhances our own image,
and leads to a subtler consciousness of one's body which in turn stimulates
the functioning of our nervous system.
Fatigue, tensions and pain slowly disappear, giving way to a balanced
energy.
A holistic method
Well-being, restored harmony and increased abilities to gain a wider
spectrum of feelings will bring about self-confidence and a renewal
of curiosity. Thus, dormant creative intuitive capabilities will be
better used.
Through our increased ability to make daily decisions, the movement
of our whole life will thus be better directed.
The works of Moshe Feldenkrais (1901-1984), a physicist and judo teacher,
mostly deal with the plasticity of the nervous system and the development
of the tactile-kinesthetic sense.
